Google, PDAs and smart phones, cue cards, cheat sheets, and condensed lists are great for looking something up in the operating room.

However, the Board Examiners are not going to sit and allow you look up the differential diagnosis for a patient whose saturation is falling.

Quoting list after list of table and charts you’ve read may make you feel brilliant, and prove that you can memorize textbooks, but guess what? So can actors!

Besides, who do you think wrote those textbooks? That’s right – most of the Board Examiners have written or contributed to medical texts. Do you really think they want to hear you spit out what they wrote?

They don’t…hey want to hear how YOU take care of YOUR patient. And how can you tell them what they want to hear?

You must take mock Oral Exams to prepare!

How will you handle questions to which you simply do not know the answer? Remember, the examiners are real doctors, and they take care of real patients. They will know if you’re trying to pull the wool over their eyes. They will know it when you don’t know an answer.
